Too Rooted to Be Removed, No One Can Pull Kida Down

Recent murmurings suggest that certain individuals, both within and outside the media space are attempting to unsettle the leadership of the President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), Engr. Ahmed Musa Kida. Yet, history has always been kind to builders and unkind to opportunists.
Ahmed Musa Kida’s stewardship of Nigerian basketball has not been a game of chance. It has been deliberate, strategic, and transformational.
Under his leadership, the federation has witnessed stability where turbulence once reigned, structure where confusion once thrived, and renewed credibility on continental and global platforms.
Where there was fragmentation, there is now coordination, where there was uncertainty, there is now direction, where there was doubt, there is now confidence.
From strengthening governance frameworks to reinforcing Nigeria’s presence in international basketball circles, from encouraging grassroots development to restoring competitive pride in national teams, Kida’s tenure has been defined by steady rebuilding and forward-looking reforms.
These are not manufactured narratives. They are measurable milestones.
Nigerian basketball regained respect in global conversations. Players found clearer pathways. Coaches found better organizations. Stakeholders found stability. Sponsors found reassurance. These are not social media talk or fleeting newspaper headlines, they are footprints of impact stamped firmly on the hardwood of progress.
Leadership in sports administration is not about trending hashtags or orchestrated outrage. It is about results, and results are stubborn, they refuse to disappear simply because a few voices demand attention. Those who believe they can harvest where they did not plant often underestimate the patience required to nurture growth.
Institutions are not playgrounds for ambition, they are structures built on sacrifice, discipline, and long-term vision. Basketball, like life, rewards those who commit to the process, not those who attempt shortcuts through distraction.
