The All Progressive Congress (APC) on Friday formally inaugurated its Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Campaign Council, unveiling a strategic roadmap aimed at securing victory across the six area councils of the FCT in the forthcoming elections.
The high-level event, attended by governors, members of the National Assembly, party leaders, and stakeholders from across the country, marked a renewed commitment to grassroots mobilisation, inclusion, and strengthened party unity in the nation’s capital.
The APC national chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda while inaugurating the campaign council charged the members to work towards bringing total victory to the party at the end of the exercise.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the chairman of APC FCT Campaign Council, His Excellency AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the governor of Kwara State expressed profound gratitude to the party hierarchy for the confidence reposed in the committee, describing the assignment as both a responsibility and an opportunity to deepen democratic dividends for residents of the FCT.
“This campaign is not merely about rallies or public outings. It is about results. It is about winning elections through effective mobilisation, strategic planning, and grassroots engagement,” hel stated.
Strategic National Representation for FCT Mobilisation
A key highlight of the inauguration was the deliberate inclusion of representatives and governors from all six geopolitical zones, reflecting Abuja’s diverse population as a melting pot of Nigerians from every region.
According to Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq this structure is designed to ensure that residents from each zone living in the FCT are effectively mobilised through coordinated outreach and community engagement.
“The FCT is within reach if we articulate our strategy clearly and work according to plan,” he said.
Renewed Strength and Commitment
He acknowledged that the party fell short of expectations in the last general elections in the FCT but stressed that the current momentum signals renewed strength, expanding support, and the return of key stakeholders committed to delivering success.
The roadmap, the Council explained, goes beyond electoral ambition, representing a broader commitment to inclusive governance, national development, and a sustainable democratic future.
Grassroots Engagement and House-to-House Mobilisation
The chairman of the Campaign Council pledged to adopt a people-driven approach, including community-level engagement, house-to-house mobilisation, and coordinated resource deployment to ensure no voter is left untouched.
“This is a collective assignment. With dedication, discipline, and the support of our leaders and members, we are confident of victory across all six area councils,” he concluded.
The event ended with a call for unity, commitment, and sustained mobilisation as the party positions itself for success in the upcoming polls.
