Nigeria’s Envoy Formally Assumes Diplomatic Role in Israel After Presenting Letters of Credence to President Herzog

Abuja (Core Reporters) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announce that the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the State of Israel, Her Excellency Ambassador Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu, has on Monday, August 3, 2026, formally assumed her diplomatic responsibilities after presenting her Letters of Credence to the President of the State of Israel, His Excellency Isaac Herzog, at an official ceremony in Jerusalem.

The presentation of the Letters of Credence officially marks the commencement of Ambassador Ufochukwu’s tenure as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Israel and underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening the longstanding cordial relations between the two countries.
Following the ceremony, Ambassador Ufochukwu reaffirmed her commitment to advancing Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives by deepening bilateral cooperation with Israel in key areas of mutual interest.
She stated that her mission would focus on expanding collaboration in trade and investment, agriculture, technology, security, innovation, education and cultural exchange, while promoting stronger people-to-people ties for the mutual benefit of both nations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed confidence that Ambassador Ufochukwu’s appointment would further consolidate the strategic partnership between Nigeria and Israel, opening new opportunities for enhanced cooperation, economic growth and sustainable development.
