As game number four of the ongoing Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) played across the country over the weekend, the Kano State based NPFL side Kano Pillars and its counterpart in Benue State, Lobi Stars picked their first win of the season in their respective home venues.
Pillars who play hosts to Enyimba FC of Aba defeated their hard-to-crack opponent by 2 goals to nil on Sunday. The result has catapulted the Sai Masu Gida to the thirteenth position on the log from the bottom position.
However, Nasarawa United also recorded their first win of the season having gone three games on a drawing level. The Milners also defeated the defending Champions, Akwa United 2-0 in Lafia. With this result, Nasarawa United have moved up to the fifth position on the log, while Akwa United dropped from the second position to the fourth.
In other games played also, Enugu Rangers humbled newly promoted Niger Tornadoes by 4-0 in Enugu, while Dakkada held the league leader Remo Stars to a 1-1 draw in Uyo. Despite the draw, Remo Stars are still on top of the log with 8 points in four games.
Rivers United played a barren draw against Sunshine Stars of Akure in Port-Harcourt to move to second place on the log with 8 points in four games. Remo Stars are with one superior goal different against Rivers United.
Meanwhile, Wikki Tourists and Plateau United defeated their visitors MFM Fc and Heartland Fc 3-0 respectively
Abia Warriors versus Kwara United, Shooting Stars versus Katsina United, and Gombe United versus Lobi Stars will come up today at 4 pm at their respective venues.
