…As Andoma of Doma HRH Alhaji, Dr.Ahmadu Aliyu Oga Onawo has endorsed the 2022 Mark D Ball Basketball Championship

The proprietor of Mark Mentors Basketball Club, Igoche Mark has hinted that his only focus now is to revive the already moribund domestic basketball in Nigeria.

Mark made this known in a chat with our correspondent in Doma, Nasarawa State at the ongoing Sarkin Daji Foundation Basketball Tournament in Doma, Nasarawa state organised by Mo Foundation.

“Let me again state categorically that our resolve in the New Face of Basketball is to revive the already dead domestic basketball in Nigeria. Our focus is to develop the game that has been killed because of maladministration. Therefore, I commend Mohammed Shehu for kick-starting the revival process of our basketball, “Mark stated.

However, the Founder of Mo Foundation, Mohammed Shehu thanked Mark Igoche for bringing like-minds who are determined to rescue basketball in the country.

“I want to thank Mark Igoche for bringing people with the same interest with the sole aim of rescuing basketball. Basketball that has been functional before is now dead, but we are determined to rescue the game. Also, we cannot talk about this tournament without Mark who has been part of the basketball progress being witnessed today in Doma land. His Mark D Ball pattern is what I am replicating.”Shehu stated.

Earlier, the Commissioner of Sports, Nasarawa state, Hon. Lucky Isaac Targima said basketball is one of the games the state government is going to focus its attention on as he asked the state indigenes to support the game.

In the same vein, HRH the Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Dr.Ahmadu Aliyu Oga Onawo has endorsed the 2022 Mark D Ball Basketball Championship.

The championship received the blessings of the Royal Father when the Local Organising Committee LOC paid him a courtesy visit over the weekend at his palace in Doma, Nasarawa state.

An elated Andoma of Doma showered encomiums on members of the LOC for taking the bull by the horn to salvage the game from what he called ‘failed’ administrators who have failed to administer the game properly by taking their position amidst the crisis that engulfed the NBBF election towards the end of last year

“I feel so happy to hear that Mark D Ball Basketball Championship is going to take place this year, it shows that you people have decided to leave those fighting over power in their fight to rescue the game. The good news is before they finished fighting, the game would have gotten to an enviable height. I am in support of Mark D Ball and we are going to seek sponsors for the championship. I will advise you, people, to continue on this path of developing basketball and stay away from those fighting for their selfish interests. “The Andoma of Doma stated.
