Kano Pillars have extended their unbeaten run to ten games in the ongoing 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) as the week 25 games were played across the country.
The visitors, Enyimba open scoring eight minutes into the game through Victor Mbaoma and the goal was the only goal in the first stanza of the encounter played at Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
On the resumption of the second half, barely seven minutes, Rabiu Ali converted a spot-kick to equalize for the home team before Ifeanyi Eze got the winning goal for Pillars at 72 minutes into the game.
However, Lobi Stars of Makurdi and Plateau United have both recorded away victory over the weekend.
Lobi Stars piped Akwa Starlet 1-0 in Uyo and moved top eight on the log, while Plateau United defeated Adamawa Utd 2-0 and moved to ninth position on the log.
Meanwhile, It will be recalled that since the rejuvenated Abia Warriors pummeled the Kano based NPFL side 4-1 in a week 15 encounter, the Sai masu gida have not lost a game either home or in an away tie.
However, Pillars, Enyimba International and Enugu Rangers are jointly holding the longest unbeaten record of thirteen, though, the Chairman of the Kano based NPFL side, Alhaji Surajo Yahaya Jambul has said that his ward coupled with the arrival of their former skipper and Super Eagles of Nigeria skipper, Ahmed Musa they are poise to surpassing their previous record of thirteen this season.
It will be further recalled that Pillars are holding the longest unbeaten home record of 202 which was broken by Nasarawa Utd at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano in August 2015.
