Celebrating a Workaholic Minister: Tinubu Hails Umahi on His Birthday

Abuja (Core Reporters) – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, on the occasion of his birthday, celebrating his outstanding service, dedication to national development, and commitment to delivering quality infrastructure across Nigeria.
Before his appointment as Minister of Works, Engr. Umahi served as the Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial District after completing two successful terms as Governor of Ebonyi State from May 2015 to May 2023. His tenure as governor was widely acknowledged for transformative infrastructure projects that reshaped the state’s landscape.
Since joining the Federal Executive Council under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Umahi has continued to replicate his record of infrastructural excellence, driving the construction and rehabilitation of major federal roads and bridges across the country.
Recognising the minister’s sustained efforts in delivering durable road infrastructure, President Tinubu commended Umahi for his passion, dedication to duty, and unwavering patriotism.
The President also urged the minister to sustain the momentum by accelerating the construction, rehabilitation, and completion of critical road projects in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s objective of improving citizens’ quality of life and stimulating economic growth.
Describing Umahi as one of the administration’s most committed performers, President Tinubu said:
“Engineer Umahi has been one of my outstanding, hardworking ministers—passionate about the job and delivering durable roads and bridges that will last for about a century.
“As a minister, he does not just sit in his office or rely on reports from subordinates; he is constantly on the road, personally monitoring construction work nationwide to ensure compliance with specifications and approvals.”
