Maikalangu Hails Wike Over The Flag-Off of Southern Parkway Service Lanes
By Gabriel Kekong
The Executive Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has lauded the Honorable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), describing him as a “people-oriented leader to the core.”
This was contained in a press statement signed by Kingsley Madaki, the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman of AMAC
Accirding to the statement, the praise came during the official flag-off ceremony for the construction of the Southern Parkway Service Lanes, a landmark project aimed at permanently ending traffic gridlock and transforming Abuja’s southern corridor.
The transformative infrastructure project was officially flagged off in Gaduwa District on Tuesday by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was represented at the event by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.
In his address, the President described the initiative as a critical component of his administration’s infrastructure renewal programme and a direct reflection of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The project is designed to drastically improve vehicular movement, upgrade the capital city’s aesthetic value, and ease economic activities within the municipal area.
Speaking on the impact of the project, Hon. Maikalangu expressed deep appreciation to both the presidency and the FCT leadership, emphasizing that the development of the service lanes directly addresses the daily commuting challenges faced by residents of the capital city.
