A governotship aspirant from Adamawa State, Abdulrahaman Haske, has lauded the practical implementation of the “Not Too Young To Run” Act, citing a 50% reduction in his nomination fees as evidence of the country’s evolving democratic landscape.
Abdulrahaman Haske disclosed that he received a 20 million naira discount on his expression of interest and nomination forms for the position of governor, a move he credited to the party’s commitment to youth inclusion and the tireless efforts of the bill’s original advocates.
The young Adamawa APC governorship aspirant used the platform to dispel widespread rumors from the preceding 48 hours, which suggested the party would favor a single consensus candidate. He praised the President for ensuring a competitive environment.
”Today, President Bola Tinubu has proven to the world that he is a true democrat,” the aspirant said. “He has shown leadership by allowing everybody to participate and show their strength.”
He further extended appreciation to the National Working Committee (NWC) and the party’s administrative organs for maintaining a smooth and transparent process.
While the aspirant’s primary focus remains on his constituency in Adamawa State, he addressed a message to the broader Nigerian youth population, urging them to shift from spectators to active competitors. He cited ₦20 million waiver as a “reality” of the bill’s success.
The aspirant asserted that young Nigerians possess the capacity to lead and are prepared for the rigors of the upcoming primaries.
National Mobilization: He emphasized that youth involvement must go beyond mere attendance at rallies.
”My advice to all Nigerian youth—not just in Adamawa—is that everybody should participate. Participation alone is not enough; we should compete as well and show our strength.”
Haske concluded by welcoming the “engaging primaries” ahead, vowing that the younger generation is ready to demonstrate its leadership capacity on the national stage.
