TCN Initiates Compensation for Mando–Rimin Zakara 330kV Line Project
Kano (Core Reporters) The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), in collaboration with the African Development Bank (AfDB), conducted a sensitization programme for Project Affected Persons (PAPs) ahead of the Mando–Rimin Zakara 330kV Transmission Line construction.
According to TCN General Manager, public affairs, Mrs Ndidi Mba, the programme held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in Rimin Zakara Community brought together traditional rulers from 25 communities in Kano State, local government officials, security agencies, and other stakeholders.
Engr. Abinbola Ominiyi, Director of Transmission at the Federal Ministry of Power, said the project would improve electricity supply in the region and called for stakeholder cooperation for smooth implementation. He assured adequate compensation for affected persons.
Also, Engr. Ibrahim Aliyu, Assistant General Manager (Transmission), Kano Region, disclosed that the Federal Government has released compensation funds, with payments expected to start between now and April.
According to Mr. David Ayomide Sanni, a consultant with Resource Field Nigeria Limited, compensation would be paid by cheque directly to beneficiaries, who must present their Bank Verification Number (BVN), National Identification Number (NIN), and relevant documents. Beneficiaries would also receive farm inputs upon completion of the process.
