Chelle Signs Two Year Contract For Super Eagles Job
…As NFF Pledges To Give Him Necessary Assistance To Succeed
Abuja (Core Reporters) Eric Sekou Chelle has signed a two-year contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as the head coach of the nation’s senior national team, the Super Eagles.
The contract which was signed on Monday at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja was witnessed by the chairman, National Sports Commission (NSC) Malam Shehu Dikko, the Benue State FA chairman, Barr. Paul Edeh and a host of others will see the French born tactician lead the team to pick the world cup ticket despite its position on the log.
In his address the president of the NFF Ibrahim Gusau said, the tactician has signed a two-year contract, with the option of another year, if he qualifies the Super Eagles to the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals. Chelle has also come into the job with three assistants, and will work with the crew on ground to enhance the Super Eagles’ brand. He will be with the Super Eagles B – which is preparing for the upcoming 8th African Nations Championship – only in a supervisory role. .
According to Gusau, “We understand how passionate Nigerians are about football,” Gusau said. “I want to assure you that Eric is here to work, and he is here to deliver results. The technical committee did its job diligently, and we are confident in his abilities.”
“I see in the new Head Coach the right spirit and the right attitude, and I have faith that he will take the Super Eagles to the next level. He sees the job of leading the Super Eagles as his dream job, and that is a huge motivation in itself.
“Coach Chelle recognizes and appreciates what is ahead of him, and he says he loves the challenge. We will be there giving him the necessary support all the way.”
