NSC Chairman Dikko Meets NFF Executive Committee
Abuja (Core Reporters) The Chairman National Sports Commission (NSC) Mallam Shehu Dikko met with the executive committee of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) on Monday, March 17, 2025 as the NFF briefed him on the ground breaking ceremony for the NFF-FIFA Players Hotel and training pitches slated for Tuesday March 18, 2025 at the MKO Abiola Stadium.
NFF executive committee members led by its president Ibrahim Gusau also briefed NSC Chairman on the preparations for the forthcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda in Kigali on Friday March 21, 2025 and Zimbabwe in Uyo on Tuesday March 25, 2025, among other critical issues.
Mallam Dikko while addressing his guests reiterated the importance of a conducive atmosphere in the football fraternity so as to facilitate the development of football in the country, pointing out that football was key to the sports economy mandate handed over to the Commission by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. In his words, “If football is succeeding, all other sports will key in.”
Earlier, NFF President, Alhaji Gusau had pledged the federation’s support for the NSC Chairman and his team in their bid to actualise the President’s mandate. He seized the opportunity to, once again, appreciate the chairman, on behalf of the entire NFF Executive Committee, for the Commission’s support to NFF, in particular, and the ongoing reforms in the sporting sector.
