Miss Esther Uzubuaku
In it bid to empower the less privileged in society, a Non Governmental Organisation, Hope-Alive Enlightenment & Empowerment -Kpamkwase Foundation has donated material to a lady living with disability in order to assist in her trade.
Donating dozens of weaving threads and other items to miss Miracle Uzubuaku in Jikwoyi-Abuja, the founder of the NGO, Mrs Esther Chiakor said the joy of her foundation is putting smiles in people’s faces, the reason they have donated the materials to her Mrs. Chiakor noted that Miracle wanted to be useful to the society despite her condition, as such she deserves all the assistants from well-meaning individuals to achieve her goal in life.
“We were passing and saw her working, we saw the efforts, she was making to be useful and to contribute her own quota to the society by using one hand with the help of the leg in producing Caps, Nets that, even I can not do.
” What she is producing any women can use that, and alot of able young ladies out there cannot make it, so I’m impressed. And I looked at her, I see if she can go to this extent then she deserves more and that is what encouraged me and my foundation to what we have done for her,” she said.
However, Mrs. Chiakor added that though they have contributed materials to assist her in making more caps and nets but, they also need to assist her get a shop so that she can be comfortable carrying out her trade. She therefore, call on spirited individuals to locate her with more assistance through the foundation. In reaction, Miss Esther Uzubuaku expressed her appreciation to the foundation and promised to continue to be making herself useful to her family and the society at large
The 27-year-old school drop-out said she was not born as a disabled person but, according to her parents she became disabled when she took in illness when she was 7, 20 years ago and as a result of the illness one side of her body got paralysed.
According to her, “It is not my making to be like this but, can I question God? All I want to say is to thank the NGO for coming to my rescue and also urged Nigerians who are like me to hope and trust in God because he is the only one that can send helpers like this to them.”
