Wonders they said shall never end! Jenneth, a daughter of a native doctor in Emmandackmbum, a village in Ekajuk Clan in Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State died in December 25, 2014 and was buried in January 12, 2015, but her spirit wasn’t resting rather it was causing havock within her neighbourhood until December 16, 2023 when her spirit was finally caged.
Emmandackmbum is a community between Mbock junction and Yahe along Abakelike road.
It all started when his husband (name with-held) wanted to marry her and was adviced by his family members not to go ahead with the marriage, but he went ahead and married her.
The family kicked against the marriage because Jenneth, despite her beauty was a daughter of a renounced Native Doctor within Ekajuk Clan, as such they believe a Lion can only give birth to a Lion.
However, the marriage was blessed with four children before the death of Jenneth. After her death, the husband’s family also adviced their brother to return the remains of Jenneth to her father’s compound for burial, but again her husband turned down the wise counsel of his people and buried her in his compound. Since then the story of her husband has never remain the same, Core Reporters learned.
Villagers who spoke with Core Reporters during their visit to Emmandackmbum village in December 16, 2023 narrated Jenneth husband’s nine years ordeal after his wife demise. They spoke under the condition of anonymity for fear of attack by late Jenneth’s spirit.
One of the villagers said, since the death of Jenneth in December, 2014, the husband has been living in hell as her late wife’s spirit tormented him to blindness.
He said, “Shortly after her burial in 2015, we started noticing that if her husband put on a generator and place it closer to her grave, she will put off the generator and drag it to about 10 meters away from their house. We kept wondering who was responsible for that until it became obvious that Jenneth’s spirit was out for her husband’s life.
“Everything about him started deteriorating; his four children abandoned him in the house alone after the spirit of their late mother had possessed them. They told their father he was going to die in the house alone.
“Every blessed night, she would be walking on the ceiling disturbing everyone’s sleep in the house, a situation that forced their children out of the house.”
The villager further said after three years of her demise, a renounced Native Doctor from Nwang community in same Ekajuk Clan was brought to cage her spirit. But, to their greatest surprise when her remains was exhumed from the grave, she was still intact, her weavon, cloths and body were still fresh as if she was buried that same day.
According to him, while the native doctor was trying to cage her spirit, it turned out to be a fierce battle, but at last the Native Doctor was able to caged her spirit, and ordered someone who shut her death body four times; in her forehead, chest, lower abdomen and her knees and each time he shoot blood will gush out from her body. After that her body was set ablaze to be sure she was gone forever. But, three days after, when they open the grave they found her skeleton lying in the grave.
He said, it was after this episode she finally blinded her living husband and sixteen days later the Native Doctor died mysteriously.
“The worse is that she blinded her husband, and any time they boiled water for him to bath, before he will get to the bathroom the water will turn to maggots.”
He noted further that Jenneth’s spirit continues tormenting her husband until December 16, 2023, nine years after, Prophet Denis Mongba, Senior Pastor of Life Hope Salvation Ministry International, Abuja led three other men of God; Prophet Joseph Owan (Boki), Pastor Samuel Erim (Abuja) and Pastor Chucks Okeke (Abuja) to finally caged her spirit when they prayed and anointed the grave.
The men of God according to the villagers, adviced the family to evacuate her remains and throw it at the sea because they said, she was a deity and deserve to return to her root.
They also told the husband to live his house for a while, so that there would be a disconnect between him and her late wife’s spirit, adding that the healing process has commenced already in the man after the prayers.
Core Reporters who were on ground to see things for themselves saw a man of his early 50s looking like an 80-year-old. Also, the compound was deserted, as neighbours prefer to have nothing to do with Jenneth’s husband for fear of been visited by his late wife spirit, except a few family members who come in the day time to feed him and boil water for him to bath.
The villager said, before deliverance and prayers were offered in Jenneth’s grave, the husband had told someone that he had a conviction that he was going to be delivered, adding that he almost passed on the previous night.
Meanwhile, the man’s brother, himself a Pastor too who invited other three men of God for the prayers said he has a revelation that three men came to their brother’s compound wearing White garments and walked round the compound and particularly the grave. So, he was also convinced that the time has come for their brother to be delivered from the wicked hands of his late wife’s spirit.
