AUST, Adeclin Venture Sign MoU to Advance Quality Poultry Feed Production in Nigeria

Abuja (Core Reporters) — The drive to improve the production of quality and affordable poultry feed in Nigeria has received a boost following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the African University of Science and Technology (AUST) and Adeclin Venture Nigeria Limited.

Under the agreement, both parties will collaborate on feed formulation, nutrition support, laboratory analysis and quality control to ensure the production of high-standard poultry feed for Nigerian farmers.

As part of the partnership, AUST will deploy its state-of-the-art laboratory equipment to test and analyse all feed formulations in line with global best practices.

Adeclin Venture Nigeria Limited, on its part, will ensure that only locally sourced raw materials are used in the production process, thereby supporting Nigerian farmers, strengthening local value chains and promoting the development of the country’s agricultural sector.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the President of the African University of Science and Technology, Prof. Azikiwe Peter Onwualu, said AUST students would play a central role in the initiative by leveraging the university’s advanced laboratory facilities for research, innovation and practical training.

On his part, the Managing Director of Adeclin Venture Nigeria Limited, Mr. Agbor Clinton, assured stakeholders that the new feed would set a benchmark in Nigeria’s poultry industry.

Clinton described the initiative as the first university-led chicken feed production initiative in Nigeria, designed to deliver superior quality, consistency and reliability to poultry farmers.

He said the partnership would also provide students with practical exposure while creating opportunities for research and innovation in poultry nutrition and feed production.

The new product line will be branded “I DEY CLIN” Chicken Feed and packaged in 25kg bags.

The product variants include:

Layer Feed: Mami Piken

Broiler Feed: Orobo

Chick Starter Feed: Lepa

The partners said the strategic product range is designed to meet the nutritional needs of different categories of poultry farms across Nigeria while promoting food security, supporting local agriculture and strengthening the country’s poultry value chain.

The initiative is expected to further deepen collaboration between academia and industry by combining AUST’s research and laboratory capabilities with Adeclin Venture’s production and commercial expertise.
