APC Nat’l Chairman Yilwatda Donates N15m to Plateau Attack Victims, Vows End to Killings
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on Saturday paid a solemn visit to victims of the recent attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, currently receiving treatment at the Jos University Teaching Hospital.

He was accompanied by his wife, Martina Yilwatda, in a show of compassion and solidarity with the victims, their families, and the wider Plateau community during this difficult time.
The visit underscored the Federal Government’s resolve under Bola Ahmed Tinubu to safeguard lives and property, and to bring an end to the recurring violence in Plateau State.
Speaking during the visit, Yilwatda described the attack as barbaric and unacceptable, calling it a direct assault on shared humanity. He stressed the need for stakeholders to move beyond routine condemnations and work collectively to prevent further violence.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, the APC chairman said the pain of victims and their families must be shared by all, noting that no society can progress when citizens live in fear.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Tinubu administration to restoring peace, strengthening security operations, and ensuring safety across all parts of the country, including Plateau State.

Yilwatda assured victims that the government remains determined to protect every Nigerian life and bring perpetrators of violence to justice. He added that the Angwan Rukuba tragedy must serve as a wake-up call for leaders, communities, and security agencies to unite against threats to peace.
As part of his visit, the APC chairman announced a donation of N15 million to support victims of the attack and other vulnerable patients at the hospital. He said the contribution is aimed at easing medical and financial burdens faced by those affected.
He also commiserated with families of those who lost their lives, praying for the repose of the deceased and strength for their loved ones.
Yilwatda commended the management and staff of the Jos University Teaching Hospital for their professionalism and prompt response in treating victims under challenging conditions.
In addition, he paid a condolence visit to the Ujah Anaguta, the paramount ruler of Jos North, over the attack on Angwan Rukuba residents.
The APC chairman cautioned against normalising or politicising the tragedy, urging renewed urgency in intelligence gathering, community engagement, and coordinated security efforts.

He called on political, traditional, and religious leaders, as well as civil society groups and youths, to reject violence and promote unity across Plateau State.
Reaffirming the collective resolve of the APC and the Federal Government, Yilwatda stated that decisive steps will continue to be taken to restore peace, strengthen security, and prevent any recurrence of such attacks.
He concluded that leadership must not only speak in times of crisis but must also act with compassion and stand with the people, stressing that the killing of innocent citizens must end and lasting peace must return to Plateau State.
