The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has reportedly ordered the removal of a scavenger colony along the road in Mabushi District, Abuja.
In a recent post online, Nyesom Wike tweeted “I have directed the immediate removal of the Scavengers’ Colony along the road corridor across Mabushi, Jahi, and Kado Districts, in Mabushi District”.
“It is not only a sanitation hazard but also a threat to our collective security in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)”.
In addition to its clearing, the FCDA has also been directed to immediately scope and commence construction of the road and infrastructure planned for that area, Nyesom Wike revealed.
Nyesom Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State has embarked on what he referred to as rehabilitation and development of the capital city, Abuja.
He affirmed that strict compliance will be required in achieving the goal of developing the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The FCT minister also explained that he is not moved by emotions when discharging his duty as a minister because he is focused on the Abuja master plan with the aim of achieving best results from his work.
