Youth and Media Network Organisation (YOMEN) has unveiled All-In-One good governance and youth development mobile application on Friday in Abuja.
While unveiling the App the *YOMEN*_*Cloud*, the chairman, Board of Trustee, Amb. Emenike N. Eme said the App will go a long way in promoting Voter Education among Nigerian youths who constitute about 60 percent of the voting population.
He explained that, the organisation is training two personnels in each ward across the country who will inturn carried out the voting education down to the least of the voters.
According to him, YOMEN* _*Cloud,*_ was primarily developed to promote grassroots voter education and mobilisation project, “READY TO VOTE,” will in addition provide valuable opportunities for every political Party to publicise its activities among the youths in particular and voters in general, while presenting clear analysis of issues that will help voters vote wisely and protect their votes effectively.
He noted that the App will help in curbing the electoral menace of vote buying, voters apathy and vote selling among other challenges Nigeria electoral system is bedevilled with.
However, he said, only a credible election process that can produce credible leaders, therefore, Nigerian youths must embrace this noble ideas of YOMEN so that at the end of the 2023 general elections leadership will definitely be entrusted on them because they are leaders of today and not tomorrow, adding that tomorrow will never come.
Core Reporters report that YOMEN took the initiative for the App at the aftermath of EndSARS protest of 2020. The idea behind the App is to take the language the youths understand to them so that they can understand and act accordingly.
“This App will help Nigerians to vote during the election and monitor their votes. In order world, with the help of ‘YOMEN Cloud’ our votes in Nigeria will begin to count in every elections.
“YOMEN Cloud’ is the back-up of what the electoral umpires are doing. What the youth need to do now and every other electorate is to download the App “YOMEN Cloud’ so that whenever you vote for an election what you need to do is to click at the camera on the App and the information will automatically gets to us. So, at the end we would be able to know who voted during the election, and from which polling unit, ward, Local Government Area and state respectively” he said.
