Milla Ebe (SGF) Chairman Bankpor Irruan Community, Abuja branch
Bankpor Irruan Community, Abuja branch has set to roll out drums to honour their sons and their well-wishers who have made the community proud both home and in Diaspora.
The community end of the year and awards ceremony is slated for Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Utako, Abuja.
Chairman of the community Mr. Milla Ebe (SGF) said the Bankpor Irruan community has reached the height whereby her sons and daughters as well as their well-wishers who have contributed to the growth of the community should be recognised so that it will propel them to do more for the community.
He noted that the community was engulfed in a prolonged crisis and it took the intervention of God himself and well-spirited sons and daughters of Bankpor in particular and Irruan in general to broker the peace the entire community now enjoys.
“We must realize that Bankpor Irruan has come to a stage where we should be recognizing those who have distinguished themselves in the areas of peace initiative, empowerment, mentorship and humanitarian support to our youths and mothers.
“This year, we’ve decided to honour a few of them who have impacted on the youths and the community as a whole. This, we believe, will send a signal to others that their efforts would surely be rewarded one day,” he said.
However, in this first-ever award ceremony of the community three categories of people are going to be recognised. The three categories include; Peace Ambassadors, Excellence and humanitarian awards.
Meanwhile, Prof. Raphael Ogom will be honoured with a humanitarian award, for his role in providing social amenities and also for seeing to the well-being of the community. Also, Sir Martin Dibang Achua and Peter Aja Akpere (Old School) will be honoured with peace ambassadors awards for their roles in restoring peace into the community after over twenty years of crisis. While, Mr. Milla Ebe and Pastor Gabriel Omolo Osang will be honoured for their roles in empowering and mentoring the youths
