Gombe State governorship aspirant, Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, has formally submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms, pledging to sustain and build on the developmental strides recorded by the current administration if elected.
Speaking with journalists shortly after submitting the forms at Treasure Suites, Abuja, Jamil said his decision to contest the 2027 governorship election and under the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) was driven by a commitment to consolidate the progress already made in the state.
“I am here to formally submit my nomination form to the secretariat,” he said, confirming his intention to join the race for the governorship seat.
He acknowledged the contributions of past leaders in Gombe State, describing the state as fortunate in its leadership over the years. He particularly commended the incumbent administration for raising the state’s development profile.
“Currently, the governor we have has placed Gombe State on a new pedestal in terms of development. We are proud of what he has achieved,” he said.
Jamil stressed that his priority, if given the mandate, would be continuity and consolidation.
“It is a big challenge to sustain that developmental stride and continue with it. I hope that, given the opportunity, I will build on what he has done,” he added.
On internal party dynamics, the aspirant said he was prepared to abide by the decisions of the party leadership and expressed openness to a transparent selection process.
“Whatever the party decides,” he said when asked about his position on the party’s nomination process.
With the submission of his forms, Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna joins the growing list of aspirants seeking to lead Gombe State, as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 election cycle.
