Why I Choses To Offer Quality Representation To My Constituents- Says Sen. Hangas
Abuja (Core Reporters) Senator Rufai Hanga (NNPP) representing Kano Central Senatorial district at the 18th Senate has revealed the secret of is motivating him to offer quality representation to his constituents, saying that his family background and upbringing motivated him to give his best to his people.

The Deputy Minority Whip of the 10th Senate Hanga revealed this on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 in Abuja when he received an award of recognition by Spark News Daily, a foremost online news platform.
According to Hanga, “My motivation comes from my upbringing. My family is a big family; a noble family; a religious family. That’s where I got my motivation not to hold something that is not mine.
“Literally, I know that people are not stupid. What is provided for them is there in the budget and they are free to go there and see it. And so, I wouldn’t be caught that I have not give them what belongs to them.
“If you go by the budget, I give more than what the budget provided for; more than that from our pocket. In the previous budget, there was no provision for new cars. I bought new cars for my constituents;133 cars and we are going to give out 10 in tge coming week. It is from our pocket and there is no car below N8 to 9 million.
“It is from my pocket; it was not provided in the budget. Now, what was provided for in the budget for me is to buy motorcycles. I think it was 150, but I have gave out more than 200. I have to add because we have a very large constituency; the most populous in Nigeria.
“There is a lot of poverty and unemployment. People are coming to ask for this and that and I have to buy from my own pocket.
The New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) Chieftain clarified that he is not unemployed, before he was elected as a Senator in 2023. He disclosed that he has been a philanthropist, passionate about the welfare of the people.
“I am not unemployed before I joined the Senate, I have a business I am doing for a long time. So, I have to give the little I have and the evidence is all over there.
On this season of holy month of Ramadan, the Senator disclosed that he is going to give out food to the 15 local government areas he is representing at the Senate.
“Rice, millet, beans, pastry making machines, flower to complement the machines for production of spaghetti. All these in this fasting period, comes fro3my pocket. I have also distributed stipend of N50, 000, so that they can cater for themselves.
“Even before I became a Senator, I have a Foundation that caters for the needs of orphans. The Foundation is still working. I give uniforms to orphans, pay their school fees. My Foundation also takes care of women.
