TCN Announces Seven-Hour Power Outage Across 7 States

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a seven hours power outage in some parts of the country on Sunday.
According to a statement by the general manager public affairs of TCN, Mrs Ndidi Mbah, “The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Kano Region, hereby informs the public that its maintenance crew will carry out annual maintenance on its Mando–Kumbotso 330kV Transmission Line from 9am to 4pm on Sunday, 31st May, 2026.
“The outage is necessary to enable TCN’s maintenance crew to amend a damaged Red Phase Conductor on Tower T187 along the line route.
“Consequently, Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) will be unable to off-take electricity to its customers across Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States, as well as parts of Bauchi and Yobe States, customers in Gazaoua (Niger Republic) would also be affected by the outage.
“TCN apologises for any inconvenience this will cause consumers in the affected areas,” the statement said.
