It was all celebration in Makurdi on Friday, as the governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia approved the payment of seven months salary arrears owed to Staff of Benue Investment property Company.
Fr. Alia, also effect payment of end of the year package which is considered as 13 month salaries as well as four months allowances for the staffers of the company, saying these gesture is prompted by the yuletide season.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company, Dr Raymond Asemakaha eulogised Governor Alia for timely intervention, while urging the staffers to show more dedication and prudent towards enhancing more progress for the company.
According to him, “Whom much is giving, more is expected, therefore, I urged you all to put in your best for optimal result of the company. I also implored that all hands must be on deck to ensure the set goal of the company is achieved.”
It Could be recalled that since inception of democracy in 1999, Governor Alia is the first Governor to upset 13th arrears of a state Parastatal.
