NSC Unveils Organising Committee for Maiden National Intermediate Games in Lagos

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has announced the composition of the Main Organising Committee (MOC) for the maiden edition of the National Intermediate Games, scheduled to take place later this year in Lagos State.
The National Intermediate Games is one of several forward-thinking initiatives introduced by the current NSC leadership, led by Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director-General Hon. Bukola Olopade. The initiative is designed to strengthen the Commission’s sports development mandate under the Renewed Hope Initiative for Nigeria’s Sports Economy (RHINSE).
The Games were conceived to provide a structured and scientific progression pathway for athletes above the age of 15, particularly those transitioning from the National Youth Games, thereby ensuring sustained talent development.
According to the Commission, the Director-General, Hon. Bukola Olopade, will serve as Chairman of the Main Organising Committee, while the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee will act as Vice Chairman. Olalekan Alabi has been appointed as Secretary of the MOC.
Other members of the committee include Amaka Ashiofu, Niyi Beyioku, Thecla Para, Mrs. Kehinde Ajayi, Dr. Rabiu Mohammed, Mbora Ikana, Dr. Ibrahim Abdullahi, Yusuf Ali, Dr. Emmanuel Igbinosa, and Micheal Obasi.
Additional members are Salisu Abubakar, Seyi Johnson, Rekiya Amedu, Kawu, Ahmad Muazu, Olufisayo Odiaka, Mariam Akande, as well as a representative of the State Director of Sports.
Speaking on the development, the Director-General, Hon. Bukola Olopade, urged members of the committee to leverage their expertise and experience to ensure the successful delivery of the maiden edition, emphasizing the need to establish a lasting legacy and set a strong foundation for future editions of the Games.
