Abuja (Core Reporters) — The South East Development Commission (SEDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating development in the South-East, as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.

In a goodwill message issued by its Board and Management, the Commission congratulated Nigerians on the anniversary, describing the occasion as an opportunity to reflect on the nation’s journey while renewing collective commitment to national development.

The SEDC celebrated the resilience, unity and enterprise of Nigerians, particularly the people of the South-East, whose contributions, it said, remain significant to Nigeria’s economic and social development.

According to the Commission, the anniversary provides an opportunity for Nigerians to strengthen the bonds of unity and intensify collective efforts towards building a more prosperous South-East and a stronger Nigeria.

It urged citizens to remain hopeful and committed to nation-building, stressing the need for greater collaboration in creating opportunities, promoting development and improving the well-being of Nigerians.

The Commission expressed optimism that the years ahead would usher in greater development, prosperity and opportunities for the South-East and the country at large.

The Board and Management of the SEDC wished Nigerians a peaceful, joyful and memorable Independence Day celebration.
