Ganduje Celebrates APC Unity, Says Party Now Stronger as One Bloc
Former National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Abdullahi Ganduje, has declared that the party has evolved beyond a loose coalition into a fully integrated political force.
Ganduje made this known on Tuesday, March 31, at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, emphasizing the party’s growing unity and successful integration of members from across political divides.
Speaking with journalists, the former chairman expressed satisfaction with the level of cohesion within the party, noting that recent political developments have further strengthened its internal stability and inclusiveness.
He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for fostering what he described as an enabling political environment that encourages cross-party collaboration and defections.
“We thank Mr. President for providing an enabling environment for other political parties to see that APC has the climate of accommodating new members,” Ganduje said, assuring new entrants of full integration into the party structure.
On internal party processes, the former Kano State governor highlighted the role of consensus-building in reducing tensions during primaries and conventions. According to him, the APC’s consensus approach helps minimize conflict and strengthens party discipline.
“Consensus has two stages. First of all, after consensus, there will be affirmation. If there’s consensus and affirmation, it is equally the same as an election because it reduces friction and disagreements that may likely lead to anti-party activities,” he explained.
Ganduje further stressed that grassroots integration remains central to the party’s strategy for consolidating its political base ahead of future elections.
His remarks come amid ongoing political realignments across Nigeria’s political landscape, with the APC positioning itself as a unifying platform for diverse political interests.
