Miss Olivia Chukwunonyelum Nwosu and her colleague, Esinna Francisca Uchechi, both former staff of La Amistad Suites, Owerri have been accused of defrauding the hotel to the tune of #35.8 million, Core Reporters exclusively report.

The duo were staff of La Amistad Suites Owerri until September where their dubious activities were uncovered.

In a document tittle: “Summary of Diverted Income of La Amistad Suites, Owerri”, from December 2024 to August 2025 obtained by Core Reporters, Olivia was accused of diverting the sum of seventeen million, five hundred and twenty five thousand, one hundred and fifty naira (#17, 525, 150) only; while Francisca was also accused of diverting eighteen million, three hundred and sixty three thousand, eight hundred and fifty naira (#18, 363, 850) only between the period of eight months.

Core Reporters investigation shows that Francisca is currently held by the AIG Zone 9 Headquarters in Umuhia, Abia State as the investigation into the alleged fraud gathered momentum and with the accused providing useful information to the police on the matter.

However, Olivia, an HND 1 student in the Department of Science Laboratory Technology, Federal Polytechnic NEKEDE, Owerri, is currently at large. She hailed from Okija in Ihila Local Government Area of Anambra state, according to information at our disposal.

Every attempt by our Correspondent to get her own side of the story could not yield any fruitful result. All calls placed to her two phone numbers could not go through, though messages sent to her lines were delivered, but as at the time of going to the press, she was yet to respond.

Our investigation also revealed that the manager of La Amistad Suites, Chinyere Gift Uba died of shock when she discovered how her two staff allegedly defrauded the hotel she was managing to the tune of #35.8m under her nose.

A source at the AIG Zone 9 headquarters, Umuahia told Core Reporters that Francisca had already returned over #1.5m out of the #18, 363, 850, she allegedly catered away with. And from all indications the police would be charging her to court soonest.

Meanwhile, Core Reporters understand that the MD/CEO of La Amistad Suites, Mr. Ndubuisi Ohaejesi has been complaining of the irregularities and irreconcilable differences he was noticing in profit declared every month by the late manager, the reason he called for an investigation to clear his doubt.
