Manchester City seems comfortable at the top of the English Premier League table as Raheem Sterling two minutes’ strike on Sunday keep them ten points clear at the top of the table
City went into the game having won their last 17 games and are 10 points clear at the top of the Premier League. They also have the added bonus of being able to welcome back Kevin De Bruyne for the match.
The win against Arsenal at Emirates was one of the more comfortable 1-0 wins you will ever see. Raheem Sterling scored in the second minute and City controlled the game throughout. While they were sloppy in attack at times, particularly in the second half, their defence didn’t give Arsenal a sniff. They’re slightly different in style to the 2017-19 vintage, but they are just as scary.
City are chased by crawling Manchester United and vibrant Leicester City who are both having 49th points at second and third positions respectively.
The game winner, Raheem Sterling praised his team mates for getting the desired result at Emirates.
According to Sterling, “We moved the ball well early on and kept the pressure on. Riyad was really aggressive in the first five minutes. They’re a good team, you could see that, but we kept our composure and ground a result out.
“Every time I score a headed goal there’s an extra buzz, and I was really pleased with that one. I got up really well.
“The centre-halves have a really great understanding and you can see there’s a bond there; it’s the same when Aymeric plays. We had a difficult start to the season but it’s a credit to the team that we started to dig results out when it really mattered,” he said.
