All Progressive Congress (APC) has issued seven days ultimatum to party members in Benue state to withdraw all cases in court or risk suspension, as well as expulsion.
Arising from its 146th National Working Committee (NWC) meeting held on March 20, 2024, at the party national secretary, the NWC members resolved that ongoing cases in court filed in the name of the party or associated with the party should be withdraw within the next seven days.
The NWC resolved that the unity and integrity of Party must be upheld, in Benue state, noting that resolving legal matters internally is paramount to maintaining the cohesion and focus of the party.
A statement by the National Secretary, All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru said, “the National Working Committee of our great Party deliberated and resolved as follows:
“That all ongoing cases filed in the name of the Party or associated with matters concerning the Party and involving Party members must be discontinued and withdrawn from the courts within the next 7 days.
“That failure to comply with this resolution will result in disciplinary action being taken against any member responsible for such suits, including immediate suspension and ultimately expulsion from the Party.
“That it is crucial that all members of the APC Benue State Chapter adhere to this directive promptly. The unity and integrity of our Party must be upheld, and resolving legal matters internally is paramount to maintaining the cohesion and focus of the APC,” the statement read.
Recalled that the Benue state chapter of the party in the last few months has been involved in a brouhaha that is threatening the survival of the party in the state.
Recalled further that there has been allegations and counter allegations against the leader of the party in the state which has resulted to legal tussle between the camp of the governor and leadership of the party.
