It was really a taste of time for the Senate President Godswill Akpabio as the screening of Festus Keyamo, one of President Bola Tinubu’s ministerial nominees suffers set back on Monday at the Senate.
Keyamo appeared before the senators during the screening exercise and introduced himself. While the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio urged the senators to either ask him questions or make remarks on his nomination, a Senator Nwokocha Darlington raised a point of order.
Darlington in his point of order which was sustained by the Senate President urged the Senate to stepdown the screening of Keyamo until he is able to clear the air on why he had repeatedly blackmailed and rediculed the hallowed chambers.
Darlington noted that Keyamo had repeatedly shunned invitations by both the Senate and the House of Representatives on different issues including Federal Government fund for job in 2020.
The Senate was thrown into confusion when the vote on whether to suspend the screening of Keyamo untill he properly responded to all the issues was asked by Akpabio.
Akpabio who was unable to control his colleagues, stood up and asked the Senate Leader, Opeyimi Bamidele to make a remark. He then moved that the Senate go into executive session.
The Senate then resolved into executive session.
