ADC Convention: “We Have Already Won,” Says Kwara North Senatorial Aspirant
By Raphael Ekpang
A senatorial aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mr. Bala Usman, has expressed strong optimism about the party’s chances ahead of 2027 general elections, declaring that victory is already assured.
Speaking at
the ADC National Convention held in Abuja on Tuesday, April 14 , Usman described the gathering as a clear indication of the party’s growing momentum and national appeal.
“My expectations? We have already won. We are going to win. We are going to change the future. You can see the caliber of people here and the way Nigerians are moving. This is a moving train heading to the promised land,” he said.
Addressing his ambition to represent Kwara North at the Senate, Usman pledged appreciation to his supporters and outlined his vision for the state.
“I will go back and thank my people for supporting me. We will work together to make Kwara a better place. Security is key—we will ensure Kwara becomes free from banditry. We will also change the mindset of our people and build a party that is open to everyone,” he stated.
On allegations that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, attempted to restrict access to the convention venue, Usman said such actions reflect fear from the ruling party.
“If they are trying to lock up facilities because of ADC, it means they are afraid. No individual under any circumstances should deny citizens access to a national space. This is wrong, and we will change that when we get there,” he said.
He further emphasized inclusiveness and equitable governance, promising opportunities for all Nigerians, particularly young people.
“Nigeria belongs to all of us. We will create opportunities—housing, empowerment—for everyone, especially the youth. This is a game changer. We are a working team, a winning team, and we will deliver.”
Usman also dismissed fears of opposition, insisting that ADC remains focused and undeterred.
“We are not afraid of any opponent. We are going there, we will get there, and we will deliver,” he concluded.
