Barely two days to the end of his eight years tenure, Ebonyi State governor, David Umahi, on Saturday sacked 17 out of 32 permanent secretaries.
Umahi announced the sack of the permanent Secretaries during a valedictory session of the State executive council, that took place at the new government house, Centenary city, Abakaliki capital of Ebonyi state
He, however, retained fifteen (15) permanent secretaries to work with the incoming administration led by Francis Nwifuru.
The out going Governor also retained the Head of service, HOS, Mrs. Rita-Mary Okoro, SSA on religious and welfare matters, Rev. Fr. Abraham Nwali, commissioner for works and transport, Mr. Ogbonna Abara and the commissioner for Aviation and Technology, Mrs. Obianuju Alo, to work with the incoming governor, Francis Nwifuru.
Umahi also appointed special assistant on Airport project, Frank Ngwu, commissioner for trade and Investment, Mrs. Chioma Nweze as consultants for the state government for a period of 3 months.
