… Mother’s health deteriorates

…Fiancée still in shock

By Willy Kings

When Afro-Beat Legend Fela Anikulakpo Kuti sang ‘double wahala for   dead body and the owner’ he may have gotten the family of Chineme Martins in mind considering the spates of ironies surrounding his death.

Corereporters can report authoritatively that the mother of the late NUFC  ace defender is now battling with an undisclosed illness orchestrated by her son’s death, while the fiancée is going through bouts of depression and hallucinations after the death of her heartthrob.

We gathered, the family is still awaiting the findings of the series of investigation panels set up by both the National Assembly and the NFF respectively.

The later NUFC defender would be buried on Saturday, as his corp leaves Lafia on Saturday to his home town.

We learnt that the paltry sum of four million naira (N4m) Nasarawa State government handed to the late Martins family for his hospital bills, burial rites and other related matters is what the family has seen since the demise of their bread winner.

Recalled that the late Martins died in a controversial circumstances while on active service for his club Nasarawa United

In a related development, the family of Enugu Rangers’ late Ifeanyi George who died in an auto crash is set to collect no fewer than 20m via insurance cover.

Meanwhile, the management of NUFC of Lafia has been reported saying that the salary of the late Martins is still running, but on whether they have life assurance policy for their players, and what they have for the family of their late defender is still unknown to the public.
