2027: Umahi Inaugurates Campaign Team to Showcase Tinubu’s Infrastructure Achievements
By Our Reporter
Abuja (Core Reporters) – Minister of Works and Deputy Director-General (DDG), Infrastructure, Mobilisation and Sensitisation, of the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Senator David Umahi, has inaugurated members of his office, charging them to document and publicise federal infrastructure projects across the country to showcase the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope administration.
Umahi gave the charge on Thursday, October 15, 2026, in Abuja, during the inaugural meeting of the Office of the Deputy Director-General, describing the exercise as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration, promote mutual understanding and establish effective working relationships among members.
He urged the team to approach their assignments with a shared sense of purpose, commitment and cooperation, stressing the need for coordinated engagement in communicating infrastructure developments and their impact on Nigerians.
The minister explained that the team’s primary responsibility was to identify, document, compile and publicise infrastructure projects being executed by the Federal Government through ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs).
Although the Federal Ministry of Works accounts for a significant proportion of federal infrastructure investments, Umahi said the team’s mandate must extend to other MDAs to ensure a comprehensive account of infrastructure development across the six geopolitical zones.
He therefore charged the Senior Special Assistants to the President on Community Engagement for the six geopolitical zones, who have been appointed as zonal coordinators, alongside other members of the office and its secretary, to work collaboratively in identifying and documenting relevant projects within their respective zones.
He emphasised that the exercise must capture projects executed by the Ministry of Works as well as infrastructure initiatives undertaken by other federal MDAs.
According to him, the objective is to provide a comprehensive overview of infrastructure investments and the developmental strides of the Renewed Hope administration of President Tinubu across the country.
Umahi clarified that existing publicity activities by the Ministry of Works and the presidential aides would continue, while his office would establish a broader framework for coordinating information on infrastructure projects undertaken by other MDAs at zonal and national levels, including relevant activities at the subnational level.
He maintained that effective communication and systematic documentation were essential to ensuring that information about government infrastructure projects was accurately presented and accessible to the public.
The minister also underscored the importance of infrastructure development as a driver of economic growth, national development and community integration.
According to him, infrastructure investment stimulates economic activities, connects communities, creates opportunities and supports the growth of other sectors of the economy.
Highlighting the Federal Government’s adoption of continuous reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP) technology in road construction, Umahi said the approach was helping to reduce dependence on imported bitumen while promoting the use of locally available resources and expertise.
He noted that the technology could support domestic economic activities, reduce foreign exchange demand associated with imported road construction materials and promote more durable infrastructure delivery.
The minister charged members of the office to demonstrate diligence, professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility in carrying out their assignments.
He reiterated that effective communication and public sensitisation were critical to ensuring that information on infrastructure projects was properly documented, accurately presented and widely disseminated.
The inauguration marks a step towards strengthening coordination, infrastructure communication, mobilisation and public sensitisation within the Office of the Deputy Director-General for Infrastructure, Mobilisation and Sensitisation of the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council.
