House of Reps Aspirants Forum Reaffirms Loyalty to APC, Backs Tinubu for 2027 Re-election
By Raphael Ekpang
Abuja (Core Reporters) – The House of Representatives Aspirants Forum has reaffirmed its loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and pledged to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, as well as the success of all candidates of the ruling party across the country.
The forum made the commitment following a courtesy visit to the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, during which it expressed its readiness to work with the party leadership and existing party structures to strengthen unity and enhance grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The national coordinator of the forum, Hon. Mohammed Danjuma said they are committed to contributing their political experience, grassroots networks and organisational capacity towards the electoral success of the APC.
He explained that the forum was established in 2022 under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to unite House of Representatives aspirants who contested but did not emerge victorious in their respective party primaries.
According to him, subsequent political developments led many members to join the APC, where they have resolved to channel their collective resources towards supporting President Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
Danjuma identified the forum’s national reach, comprising aspirants drawn from the country’s 360 federal constituencies, as one of its major strengths.
He said the structure provides the forum with extensive grassroots connections, political experience and an understanding of constituency-level dynamics that could be deployed to strengthen the party’s mobilisation and campaign efforts.
The forum also expressed its desire to be integrated into the APC’s campaign structure, stressing that its objective was to complement, rather than compete with, existing party organs.
“Our intention is not to create a parallel structure or compete with existing party organs. Rather, we seek to complement the party’s efforts and make our collective experience and national reach available for the advancement of the APC,” the representative said.
He added that constructive engagement with former aspirants would promote inclusiveness, strengthen party cohesion and maximise the human and political resources available to the party.
The forum commended Yilwatda for his leadership and efforts to strengthen the APC, promote unity among members and position the party for electoral success.
It further pledged to respect the party’s constitution, abide by its decisions and work harmoniously with its leadership and other stakeholders towards achieving their common objectives.
The forum also called on the media to continue providing accurate, balanced and objective coverage of political developments, noting the media’s important role in informing the public and shaping national discourse.
Reiterating its commitment to the APC, the chairman of the forum, Danjuma said it looked forward to working closely with the party leadership to mobilise support for President Tinubu and other party candidates in the 2027 general elections
