Bauchi 2027: Nura Manu Zoro Submits Nomination Forms, Unveils Three-Point Agenda
By Stella Kevin
Dr. Nura Manu Zoro, a leading aspirant for the 2027 Bauchi State governorship election, has formally submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms, pledging a results-driven administration focused on education, agriculture and security.
Speaking with journalists in Abuja shortly after filing his papers, the former gubernatorial aide said Bauchi requires serious governance, not political theatrics.
“Bauchi is not a state for noise-making; it is a ground where the unexpected happens,” he said. “We have been working on the ground to help people. It is about delivery, not the volume of the campaign.”
Dr. Zoro, who served in the state government in 2019, said his experience gives him an advantage over other contenders in what is shaping up to be a crowded race. He said his understanding of Bauchi’s political landscape and governance structures would enable him to deliver practical solutions if elected.
At the heart of his campaign is a three-point agenda aimed at transforming the state’s socio-economic outlook.
The first is the consolidation of basic education, with a focus on tackling Bauchi’s out-of-school children crisis. He described the state’s ranking among those with the highest number of out-of-school children in the country as unacceptable.
His second priority is the commercialisation of agriculture to move farmers beyond subsistence production and boost the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
“This shift is designed to increase the state’s IGR and drastically reduce poverty,” he said.
The third pillar of his agenda is strengthening security through closer cooperation with the Federal Government to ensure lasting peace and regional stability.
On the crowded field of aspirants, Dr. Zoro expressed confidence in his grassroots support, saying he remains ahead of his contemporaries in mobilisation and community engagement. He urged his supporters to remain focused and disciplined as the election cycle progresses.
“Let us go and do the right thing. Work hard and get the elections done. We will deliver,” he said.
