IG Disu Strengthens Inter-Agency Collaboration With Strategic Visit to Sisters Security Agencies

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, paid a series of strategic courtesy visits to key security and law enforcement agencies in Abuja as part of ongoing efforts to deepen inter-agency collaboration and enhance national security.
Visit to NSCDC
At the Headquarters of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the IGP was received by the Commandant-General, CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, OFR. The visit underscored the importance of strengthened synergy in tackling emerging security threats.

IGP Disu emphasized that effective coordination among security agencies remains critical to national stability and public safety. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to advancing intelligence-led policing and improving operational efficiency through robust partnerships.
In his response, CG Audi acknowledged the Nigeria Police Force as the lead internal security agency and commended the IGP for what he described as the first visit of its kind by a sitting Inspector-General to the Corps Headquarters. He noted that the visit reflects a strong commitment to inter-agency collaboration and proposed the establishment of a joint Fusion Centre to enhance coordination in addressing evolving security challenges.
Visit to Nigerian Correctional Service
The IGP also visited the Headquarters of the Nigerian Correctional Service, where he was received by the Controller-General, CG Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche.

During the visit, IGP Disu highlighted the need for deeper collaboration in intelligence sharing, custodial security, and seamless coordination within the criminal justice system. He stressed that strengthened partnership between the Police and the Correctional Service is essential to improving investigative outcomes, reducing delays in prosecution, and supporting ongoing reforms.
CG Nwakuche commended the IGP for the historic visit, noting that it is the first by a serving Inspector-General to the Service Headquarters. He described the development as a clear demonstration of commitment to inter-agency cooperation and called for enhanced joint training programmes to improve professionalism, operational efficiency, and coordination.
Visit to Nigeria Immigration Service
At the Headquarters of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the IGP was received by the Comptroller-General, Kemi Nanna Nandap.
IGP Disu emphasized the critical role of inter-agency cooperation in addressing cross-border crimes, noting that effective border control and intelligence integration are vital to national security. He called for strengthened coordination mechanisms, joint training initiatives, and real-time intelligence sharing to enhance border security operations.
In her remarks, the Comptroller-General expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a strong demonstration of commitment to national security coordination. She highlighted the Service’s collaboration with the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) in Nigeria, particularly in border management, transnational crime control, and intelligence exchange.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force reiterated its commitment to building strong institutional partnerships with all security agencies as part of a collective effort to safeguard lives and property and strengthen the nation’s internal security architecture.
