Gov kefas Woos Investors to 2025 Taraba State International Investment Summit
Abuja (Core Reporters) The governor of Taraba State , Dr. Agbu Kefas has Woos Investors across the globe to the maiden edition of the ‘2025 Taraba State International Investment Summit’ billed for Wednesday, May 21, at Jalingo the state capital.
Dr. Kefas spoke at the Pre -Summit briefing held at the Foreign Affairs, Headquarters in Abuja on Monday, May 12, where he showcased the state before members of the diplomatic corp. He outlined the state’s potential and strategic investment opportunities to the diplomatic and business communities in Nigeria.

He emphasized that the Summit was grounded in four cardinal principles—peace and security, agricultural potential, energy and hydro power opportunities, and the burgeoning digital economy and tourism sector. He highlighted that, in the last two years, Taraba State had achieved a remarkable record of zero major security incidents, making it an increasingly stable environment for business growth.
Kefas said, “We are creating an enabling environment for investors. Taraba offers untapped potential in solid minerals such as gold and uranium, vast agricultural resources, and immense tourism opportunities,”
““Our administration is committed to honoring agreements and working with development agencies to facilitate growth. The state remains one of Nigeria’s safest for investment, with structures in place to ensure investor protection.”
A key focus of the Summit is showcasing Taraba’s vast agricultural potential, with 44,000 square kilometers of arable land ripe for investment. But the state’s opportunities don’t end with farming. The Governor also spotlighted Taraba’s rich energy resources, particularly its hydro power potential, as well as its growing digital economy and thriving tourism sector, all of which present a wealth of investment prospects.
Governor Kefas further emphasized that the Summit serves as a platform for Business-to-Government (B2G) and Business-to-Business (B2B) interactions, ensuring that investors will benefit from high returns, tax holidays, and duty waivers—making Taraba an attractive destination for both local and international businesses.
The representative of the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Anderson Madubike, Director of Trade and Investment at the Ministry, reiterated the Federal Government’s support for the summit, describing TARAVEST as a vital platform for advancing the economic agenda of both Taraba State and Nigeria at large.
“This summit aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Ministry’s 4Ds Diplomacy Framework: Democracy, Development, Demography, and Diaspora,” Madubike said. “TARAVEST provides a golden opportunity for diplomatic missions and international stakeholders to explore the diverse investment prospects in Taraba.”
He described the summit as a strategic gathering of governments, private sector players, and civil society stakeholders united by a common vision of economic integration, empowerment, and sustainable development.
“Taraba State is truly nature’s gift to Nigeria. From agriculture to mining, and from energy to tourism, the possibilities are endless. The summit aims not only to attract capital but also to bring in expertise, innovation, and global partnerships,” Madubike added.
Meanwhile, In his address, the Chairman of the Main Summit Planning Committee, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Godwin Elumelu, lauded the event as a reflection of Taraba State’s commitment to continuity and growth. He credited the positive business climate in the state to the government’s progressive policies under Governor Kefas’ leadership.
