Nasarawa State Police Command announcing commencement of Third-Party Insurance
Lafia (Core Reporters) The Nasarawa State Police Command has joined Lagos, Akwa Ibom and Edo states in announcing enforcement of mandatory third-party motor vehicle insurance on Saturday, February 1, 2025, across the state.
In.a statement by the the spokesperson of Nasarawa State Police Command, SP Ramhan Nansel, said this action is in line with the directive from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun,
The state reads in part, “The Nasarawa State Police Command wishes to inform the public, particularly vehicle owners, that the enforcement of mandatory third-party motor vehicle insurance commenced today, Saturday, 1st February 2025, across the state.
“This action is in line with the directive from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, to all Police Commands and Formations, mandating the strict adherence of all motor vehicle owners to the third-party insurance requirement as outlined by law.
“The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has called on all vehicle owners and operators who have not yet acquired third-party insurance to do so promptly, in order to avoid legal consequences and promote road safety for all.
“CP Shetima also expressed his satisfaction with the level of cooperation from the public thus far and emphasized the importance of continued adherence to traffic regulations,” the statement said.
