A group known as National Democracy Stakeholders Group (NDSG) has called on Nigerians to give full backing to the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his bid to build a new Nigeria
The call was made during 2024 President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s one year in office celebration, in Abuja.
The National Democracy Stakeholders Group had organised the 5th National Democracy Solidarity Walk, with theme: We are Democracy, Celebrating 25 years of Sustained Democracy in Nigeria, which was held in the 36 states of the federation including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Speaking at the event, Mr David Ukechir Tersoo said the initiative was aimed at enabling people to appreciate the good things that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was doing.
He noted that a lot of people were ignorant of the president’s commitment to put food on the tables of every Nigerians, as well as ensuring that every Nigerian child went to School.
He pointed out that the situation in the country was inherited over the years, coupled with global problems but that President Tinubu had been feeling the pains Nigerians were passing through and would do everything possible to ameliorate their plights to enable them experience renewed hope in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Prince Albert Diete Spiff said the event was to celebrate 25 years of democracy in Nigeria. In doing so, he said there was need to remember all those who had been in the process that made it come through. He stressed on the need for people to support and make democracy work in Nigeria as a nation.
He maintained that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done creditably well in his one year in office considering his achievement so far, pointing out that Nigeria’s problems did not start in a year. He argued that one year was not enough to judge President Tinubu on his determination to taking Nigeria to the glory land.
He called on Nigerians to give full support to Tinubu’s administration to enable him deliver the dividends of democracy to the people, saying, “If we are going to be make Nigeria work, it needs combined efforts of all. All hands must be on the deck”.
