Hon Sampson Uchenna Charles has been nominated the sole presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for the 2023 general election.
His campaign DG says Hon. Sampson’s nomination will be rectified at the party national convention to be held in Abuja soon before INEC deadline for political party’s submission of their candidates.
Hon. Sampson accompanied by large supporters submitted the form in Abuja on Wednesday with a promise to reposition the country on a better part and restore the battered economy.
Hon. Charles submitted  the form through his campaign  National Leader  Aminu Bello Yar’adua whom while submitting  the form to the National Chairman of the party, Bar. Julius Abure noted that Nigeria needs great transformation that will make things work better.
Responding after receiving the form, National Chairman, Bar. Abure who promised to give all candidates a level playing ground stated that Labour Party was committed in making Nigeria a better place for every citizen.
Abure said that all contestants would be accorded equal opportunity during the contest for flag bearer of the party and treated fairly.
He unveiled the party’s plans to lead Nigeria to liberation after the bad governance they experienced under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and present All Progressive Congress (APC) leadership.
He said the country is bleeding seriously with a lot of things going wrong, adding that Labour Party was capable of changing things for good with the support of all Nigerians
LP boss decried the insecurity situation of the country stating  that lives and property have been highly unprotected with many Nigerians losing their lives while most of them are living in fear.
He said the roads were no longer safe making travel by road an uphill task. He maintained that most Nigerians can no longer travel to their home towns due to safety failure as peace has eluded the people owing to threat of insecurity.
He informed that with the age long dispute with Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) to be settled and heard no more,  that Labour Party was the party to beat in 2023 contest, with Hon. Sampson Charles as the flag bearer.
A political Analyst and Public Policy Commentator, Dr. Charles Edet  Esq said the candidature of Hon. Samson Uchenna Charles was a good one as the party has nominated him as a sole candidate.
His words, “For Labour Party to nominate a candidate from South East shows that they are in line with equity, fairplay and justice which are most needed in the country today.
“I hereby congratulate him for this great feat and I urge him to reciprocate this gesture by running an open government that will satisfy us all when he emerges victorious as president come 2023” Edet said.
