Good Governance may have been an uphill task in Taraba but in less than one hundred days in office, Governor Agbu Kefas is making the headlines in the North East as a leader and democrat per excellence going by his track record of achievements in infrastructure, primary health care, surveillance, mechanized farming amongst others, as highlighted by the team
These were the views expressed by Coalition of Taraba Youths that converged in Abuja led by Comrade Ure Caleb Danjuma in solidarity with the governor, saying his footprints and success recorded in few months is an assurance that a “North Star” has emerged to usher in a new growth trajectory.
Comrade Caleb while addressing journalists earlier appeal for collaboration and Partnership with all stakeholders especially now that the rebuilding process has begun.
He citedan example of new enrolment of pupils in public schools in large numbers because a huge burden lifted off parents at a critical time occassioned by the subsidy removal, describing is as “the game changer” which has led to zero tension among several families. “There is free education for primary and post primary schools while tuition fees for undergraduates has also been slashed by as much as 50%”.
Taraba according to Caleb ” is very rich in mineral deposits spread across the nook and cranny of the state, appealing to those involved in illegal mining to turn a new leaf by working in allaiance with his Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas to turn the leakages in the sector to wealth for all Tarabans”.
“Illegal mining is the curse of several unrests such as banditary, kidnapping and other vices that has bedevilled the state for too long, supporting the governor towards harnessing these potentials is key to economic prosperity”.
Caleb who is among the elite youths in the state while sharing his thoughts with newsmen speak with high hopes saying “Taraba state is now in safe hands, we should not allow tension and emotions creep in to destabilize the fragile peace been enjoyed by our people, and we must collectively condemn those intending to breach the peace.
The governor upon assumption in office appoints technocrats and people of integrity which is yeilding results as we can see with rural access roads, community policing, collaboration with security agencies and respect for the traditional institutions. These synergy is currently impacting on the state, he says.
