Mrs Christiana Uduak Umana, an indigene of Akwa Ibom State and aspirant for the Bwari/AMAC Federal Constituency seat, has formally declared her intention to contest the 2027 general election, as she picked the All Progressive Congress (APC) expression of interest and nomination’s forms on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in Abuja.
Uduak, after she obtained her expression of interest and nomination’s forms on Tuesday, she highlighted her track record of grassroots development and commitment to inclusive representation.
Speaking on her motivation, Udwakumana stated that her decision to run is driven by a desire to expand ongoing efforts aimed at improving the welfare of her constituents.
“I have been doing a lot for the people of Bwari. I’ve supported education through scholarships, built housing for widows, and provided them with solar-powered homes. I believe that if given the opportunity, I can do even more,” she said.
She emphasized that her aspiration is rooted in service, continuity, and a deeper understanding of the needs of the people.
Expressing gratitude, she added, “I thank God for this day, and I pray that this journey will be successful.”
Uduak Umana also used the opportunity to call for increased female participation in politics, noting that women must take their rightful place in governance.
“We need more women on the political platform. That is why I picked the nomination form — to demonstrate that women are ready to lead and contribute meaningfully,” she stated.
Commending ongoing development efforts within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), she acknowledged improvements in infrastructure and public services.
“If you look at the FCT today, the development is impressive — the road networks, electricity, and overall infrastructure are improving significantly. I am here to support and build on these achievements,” she noted.
She concluded by reaffirming her commitment to service, inclusiveness, and sustainable development for the people of Bwari/AMAC Federal Constituency.
