As agencies under the ministry of interior completed their 3-day Mid-Term Sectorial Performance Retreat in Zuma Rock Resort. Suleja, Niger State, the minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has urges all the agencies on his ministry to strive for excellence in their operations this year.
The minister who was impressed with the performances of the agencies in the last one year, noted that with the calibre of persons heading the agencies and professionalism of the management staff as well as the entire work force in the agencies he is rest assured that they will deliver in their contracts.

He made the call on Saturday during the closing ceremony of the 3-day retreat where he signed Performance Contracts bonds with the Heads of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Fire Service, Nigerian Correctional Service, and National Identity Management Commission (NIMC)
Dr. Tunji-Ojo stated that the Ministry had improved its performance rating from 62 percent last year to 85 percent but charged the agencies to go for 100 percent at the end of this year, the feat gave assurance is achievable.

He said, “If today we scored 85 percent, let us strive for 100 percent. Excellence must be our benchmark. My dream is to build a ministry that thrives beyond my leadership, one sustained by strong institutions, not strong men.”
Meanwhile, the Commandant-General of NSCDC, Prof. Audi, who spoke unbehalf of other agencied assured of improved delivery in 2025. “We signed one last year and did well, but there is room for corrections. This year, we will roll out strategies to surpass past achievements. Nigerians will see a lot of improvements,” he pledged.

He added that the Corps would focus on both presidential and operational mandates, with a review of its performance due by the first quarter of 2026.
However, with the new performance contracts, the Interior Ministry expects its paramilitary services to remain a pillar of national security and service delivery, while contributing significantly to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Core Reporters report that the Minister, Tunji-Ojo took time to appreciate all the agencies under his ministry for the transformations within two years, emphasising that they are the agents of perfection. “Let us deliver value that will make families smile and give citizens confidence in their country.”
The Nigerian Immigration Seevice (NIS) will sign its performance contract on a later date.
