Troops Neutralize 10 Terrorists, Recover Arms, Disrupt Logistics Network in Plateau

In a decisive blow against terrorist elements operating in Plateau State, troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE, in conjunction with local vigilante groups, successfully neutralized a significant number of terrorists during a coordinated clearance operation across Daba and Seri villages in Wase and Kanam Local Government Areas.
The operation, conducted as part of ongoing offensive clearance efforts codenamed Operation WUTAN DAJI, underscores the military’s unwavering commitment to restoring security along identified terrorist corridors. At about 8:30 a.m. on 9 April 2026, troops established strategic blocking positions between Dutsen Zaki and the Odare Forest. During the operation, a large group of terrorists mounted on motorcycles was sighted moving along a known transit route. Troops swiftly engaged the criminals with superior and well-coordinated firepower.
Despite initial resistance, the terrorists were overwhelmed, leading to the neutralization of 10 of them, while others fled in disarray into the surrounding forest, leaving behind casualties.
In a related development, following reports of an isolated attack on commuters along the Razat–Kafi Abu axis, troops launched a swift and comprehensive offensive targeting the perpetrators. Upon contact, the assailants retreated into the hinterlands, prompting an immediate pursuit by security forces to restore calm in the area.
In a series of coordinated manoeuvres, troops conducted thorough cordon-and-search operations across Suma Suga and Takwok villages, as well as adjoining mountainous terrain. These efforts led to the recovery of weapons and other critical items abandoned by the fleeing terrorists. Recovered items include three AK-47 rifles, three magazines, eight rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, two motorcycles, and five 25-litre jerrycans of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) intended for terrorist logistics. Troops also recovered a National Identity Card and a photograph believed to belong to suspects, providing useful leads for ongoing investigations.
This successful engagement marks a significant step in degrading the operational capacity of armed groups in the region. Troops remain on high alert and are currently pursuing fleeing terrorists and their collaborators. Operation ENDURING PEACE will continue to intensify clearance operations and dominate identified flashpoints to ensure the safety of lives and property.
