The project which commenced on Friday, February 27, 2026, is expected to be completed on Tuesday, March 30, 2026.

Core Reporters report that this project is aimed at enhancing TCN’s capacity to evacuate more power from the Azura Power Plant and the NIPP Power Plant to transmission substations across the national grid. It will also improve transmission channels, provide additional capacity, and strengthen the reliability of bulk power supply.

According to Mbah, “upon completion, the two lines will enhance the capacity of Ihovbor Transmission Substation.

“This initiative underscores TCN’s continued commitment to expanding its transmission network and wheeling capacity for improved efficiency and reliable power supply across the country
