As the female national team, Super Falcons gear up for the crucial second leg encounter of the Olympic qualifying tie against Bayana Bayana of South Africa, the Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh has urged the girls to break the 16-year jinx that has kept Nigeria out of the Olympic Games Female Football event.
Having missed out on the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Olympic Games, Senator Enoh urged Super Falcons to be determined to reclaim its spot on the international stage.
The nine times African champions will be going into the game with a 1-0 lead from the first leg encounter held at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, the Super Falcons carry the hopes and dreams of a nation as they head into the decisive match in South Africa in Tuesday.
Senator John Owan Enoh, speaking ahead of the match, emphasized the importance of self-belief and resilience in achieving victory.
He stated, “The Super Falcons have shown remarkable strength and prowess throughout their journey, and now is the time for them to rise and conquer. We believe in their ability to overcome any challenge and make Nigeria proud.
“Breaking the 16-year Olympic jinx is not just a goal; it will be a perfect microcosm of the dedication and abilities of our athletes. I urge the Super Falcons to play with passion, determination, and unity. Together, we can rewrite history and inspire generations to come.”

Meanwhile, Enoh called upon all Nigerians to rally behind the Super Falcons for their needed support to enable them come back home on Tuesday victorious.
