Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh has congratulated the victorious Super Falcons for qualifying for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris after edging Banyana Banyana of South Africa in double legs encounter.
Senator Enoh commended the team for their scintillating performance that earned them a goalless draw in Pretoria thereby qualified for Paris Olympics in a 1-0 win aggregate following the win in Abuja last week.
The Falcons kept a clean sheet and secured a historic victory after a sixteen-year drought. With this win, a 16-year jinx of none appearance in the Olympics despite their exploit in Africa is broken
The women team have been absence from the Olympics since 2008.
However, the Minister whose quest to promote sports in Nigeria to take its rightful position in the comity of nations hast expressed happiness in the Super Falcons’ achievement, saying their performance deserved nothing short of the ticket to Paris.

He extended his felicitations to the coaching staff, players, and all Nigerians, stating it is a win for the country. He added all hands must be on deck, as they prepare to represent Nigeria with pride and determination at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
