Senate Set to Screen Chairman, MD, Other Board members of SWDC on Wednesday
Abuja (Core Reporters,) The Senate Committee on South West Development Commission (SWDC) has said that on Wednesday, June 18, it will screen the presidential nominees for the position of the chairman, managing director and board members of the Commission.
This was revealed on Tuesday, June 17, during the Committee’s inaugural meeting held at the Senate Wing of the National Assembly, Abuja.
Speaking at the inaugural meeting, the committee chairman, Senator (Dr) Yunus Abiodun welcome members of the committee to the inaugural meeting, assuring them of his maximum cooperation while demanding same from them.
He said, “As the Chairman my duty is not only to lead but to listen and cooperate with all you in the discharge of our responsibilities as a committee in line with President Bola Tinubu‘s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Our first assignment is to screen the presidential nominees ; the Chairman, Managing Director and other board members of the South West Development Commission tomorrow being Wednesday, June 18,2025,” he said.
However, members of the committee who were present at the inaugural meeting pledged their total commitment to their committee chairman, Senator Abiodun whom they both believed possess the qualities to derive the process of laying a solid framework for the smooth take off of the board.
