Sen. Ipinsagba Urges FUTA Students To Learn Act Of Leadership As Leaders Of. Tomorrow
Avuja (Core Reporters) Senator Olajide Ipinsagba, representing Ondo North senatorial district at the National Assembly has urged students from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, the Ondo State capital to learn as leaders of tomorrow a better way of leadership.
Sen. Ipinsagba gave the charge on Wednesday when he received in his office a delegation of FUTA Students Representative Council (SRC) led by it speaker, Comrade Daniel Adewale.
The delegation was at the national assembly to witness the proceedings of the senate, therefore, Comrade Adewale said, “as students’ Parliamentarians, after we witnessed the senate plenary, we also used the opportunity to pay an scheduled visit to Senator Ipinsagba.”
“Senator Ipinsagba is a respected Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and he is our mentor and father as well.” He said.
While addressing the students, Ipinsagba said learning is an act therefore, he enjoined the students to learn better ways of leading others when they are in position of authorities.
He said, “You are here to witness the Senate proceedings. This is a learning process, okay? Like I said, you are the mediation of the leadership of tomorrow, You need to get the very act of leadership right from the beginning. So, I urged you to learn the better way of practicing leadership.You need to learn so that by tomorrow, when you are moving to the hierarchy or the staircase of leadership, you will know better what leadership is all about.
“I welcome you again to the national assembly and advised that as you go back to your school shun any activity that will not bring unity among you and pay attention to tb those new things that will make you better leaders tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the speaker of FUTA’s SRC, Daniel Adewale said the purpose of their visit was to carried out their normal parliamentary visit as students legislators.
“And the purpose of the parliamentary visit national assembly, States House of Assemblies, to learn and gain more knowledge about legislation. We are here to understand what legislation really means. And today (Wednesday), observing the Plenary Session of the Senate, we’ve been able to get a lot of understanding about how bills are debated and passed.”
